they are safe..but when it breaks finding parts may be a problem
I'm riding a '78 SR500 and love it. It has been very reliable, excepting the one time I abused it , and parts haven't been a problem to date. The older bikes tend to be very reasonably priced. I have a few freinds who have gotten some nice bikes for free. Ride what you like.
Parts are easy to find…I just finished a 1978.5 Suzuki RM250c….it ROCKS!!! it is not really factory fresh…but built to ride… (listed on craigslist Dallas too…) They are fun to ride…and even more fun to build…safe hunting!!!
Vintage is cool .. these bikes are great and parts aren't that hard to find.. some are damn easy and cheap to buy actually…I like my dual sport drz 400 suzuki…I've had old bikes and wanted something bigger and newer …My favorite older bike was the 175 dt yamaha early monoshock like a 78 great lil bike …have fun
