Comments on name of "rare" honda motorcycle model with 6 cylinder engine?
CBX6
http://www.cbx6.co.uk/
The rare honda is the Valkyrie. My friend has one. It's huge and I think the engine actually is the same as for a truck.
honda shadow
HH is correct the CBX was a monster in its day
there are a few rare honda 6's,
the rarest is probably the Valkyrie "Rune", it's got an opposed 6 cylinder similar to the gold wing….. and was only made in 2004.
the oldest is the CBX1000 from the late 70's early 80's that was an "inline" 6…made from 78 to 82 I believe…
actually bud, in 79, the top speed was "advertised" as 146 mph…
Honda CBX- 1000 aka CBX6.
It was the first Honda motorcycle to attain over 60 mph in first gear and had an advertised top speed, without fairings, of 150+.

Hi
I don't know about rare but the bike you are talking about is the CBX1000
this was developed from a racing bike that mike hailwood won the Isle of man TT on but his was just a 250cc and he won the 250 350 and 500cc races on the same 250 bike
Kawasaki also made an in line 6 cylinder bike
The Honda is refereed to being a FWE bike and the meaning of that is fcuking wide engine!
there are still lots of them about
Hope this helps
I had one of these from new
I agree with Magley, the Rune is probably the rarest of the bunch. I've yet to see one on the road but the place I bought my bike from said they had sold 2 from that dealership.
I don't know what's so rare about the CBX, they made over 38,000 of them from 1979-1982 and how do you not know the name CBX? The real rare one is the 247cc DOHC, RC166 race bike, that the legendary Mike Hailwood won the 250 cc World Championship with in 1966 and 1967. Other than that the Rune would be considered rare, only 3940 of them but the Rune is a Valkyrie and there were over 52,000 of them total…
There are several past and present Honda Motorcycles with 6 cylinders. The CBX is one of the older models. It was an inline 6, produced from 1979 to 1982. More recently Honda produced the flat 6 cylinder Gold Wing (GL1500 and GL1800)1988 to present, the Valkyrie, Valkyrie Tourer, and Valkyrie Interstate (GL1500C, CT, CF) 1997-2003. However, it's the Valkyrie Rune (NRX1800) 2004-06, that was produced in fewer numbers than any other 6 cyclinder production Honda motorcycle in the US, making it the rarest 6 cylinder Honda.
The Honda Rune. The Valkyrie and Gold Wing also have 6 cylinder engines.
Nothing rare about the main bike that is a six cylinder for Honda.
The Goldwing is a super smooth opposed six with a reverse gear to move that 800+ lbs.
Since you are asking about rare engines I think you need to look at race bikes, the 3RC164 6 cylinder 247cc ridden by Jim Redman max revs 17,000rpm – 54 bhp.

Unfortunately I can't locate a sound recording of it, this is a 2RC146 124cc (19,000rpm permitted for a short time) feast your ears

Really rare and top of its development though is the RC149, a 5 cylinder 125 which revved to 20,500rpm, and the RC116 50cc 2 cylinder 21,500rpm with 9 gears which had a power-to-capacity equivalent of 320bhp per litre not even 21st century technology surpasses this.
