Did you ever ride a motorcycle in a business suit?
I have to wear suits to work. It's crazy, cycling, wearing a kind of like this guy:) http://imagecache2. allposters. com/images/pic/FIP/CY-00056-D ~ black-Wei?-photo-of-Man-on-vintage-motorcycle-poster. jpg

Yea once and ripped a big hole in the middle of my pants. Never again.
Since you must wear a suit for work, I'd have a change of suits at work.
That way you can change if you arrive a little early. I personally would not wear a suit while riding a cycle.
It's not madness, but you will look kind of foolish. You also have to consider the cost of cleaning suits, which you would have to do more often. Oh, and if you have an accident, you're screwed. That wool/polyester blend will not protect your skin.
I think I would ride after work.
I have to wear a shirt and tie to work, but I don't have to wear the jacket. My buddy who does have to wear one just has a slightly longer touring jacket he wears over it. You will never look as crisp as if you took your air=conditioned car, but you will feel better when you get there. Not to mention, you get to be the guy at work who rides his motorcyle in. I think that might have been part of how I landed the hottest girl in the whole company!
Good luck man!
That's a classic. My Grandfather told me when he used to go to work on his Ducati motorcycle in a 3 piece suit. Classy…and All American. Thanks for the pic.
yep and a tuxedo and Marine dress blues too! if you look at some really old pictures from the 20's and 30's it seems like that was proper attire. But I wouldn't make a habit of it today.suit pants just don't have enough protection! the person that presses your suits will love you though.dress shoes don't really grip well at a stop either. My older brother put a box behind his seat and rear wheel that would hold his dress clothes on a hanger. looked dumb but it was 1973 and we were in a gas crises. a salesman goes by my house every day or so in dress pants and a shirt and tie.The way that tie whips,He's going to choke someday! If you need to look good when you get there, you should change at work. some cleaners deliver, so see if you can get them to pickup and deliver to work for ya! bugs all over the front of your suit probably aren't going to make points with anybody. It'd piss me off cause you got to ride and I didn't!
yes, and i melted my pant leg to my drag pipes, so now i put chaps over them if i have to be dressier at work…. but i tend to let bike weather interfere with my attire at work, even though i have a professional position, if i can ride that day, i wear jeans
Yeah I have a couple of times. Well not a business suit but a shirt, tie, blazer and pants. My blazer kept opening up like a parachute when I got over 60mph. At slower speeds it was OK though
For across town commute it is OK – I think it looks cool
I have never needed to do so. For folks that do, there are riding suits out there designed to be worn over business suits. The best known example is the Aerostitch Roadcrafter. It provides very good weather protection and good crash protection, and will last a very long time. It is expensive, about $800. But for those people who would like to commute to the office on a bike, it's an investment worth looking into.
