1982 Suzuki RM250 Motorcycle Restoration Tip 82 RM 250
Restoration of vehicles is about the details, here is a helpful tip to anyone with a 1982-1983 Suzuki RM250. If spacers are not used between the radiator fairing and radiator, the fairing will be too close to the tank and rub on it. Over time vibration will cause the fairing to cut into the gas tank making a groove. Eventually it could cause the tank to leak, bad, very bad. I'm selling these spacers on ebay, user mshade2000. I have a 1983 rm 250 any sugestions for rebuilding or replacing the rear shock. mine won't hold oil and can't find any parts?
@monkbait Thanks buddy!
@wrangomonger On my website, on the "links" page there's a link to Myler's radiator restoration.
How about bent radiators? You got any secrets about straightening them out? Mine are all tacoed up but not leaking. I'm afraid if I start trying to bend them I'll crack them.
do you know where i could find plastics for a 1986 rm125? i can only find the front and rear fenders no side panels or shrouds
Well, that's a pretty open-ended question
It could be a number of things. But there must be something wrong if it's not hitting because these bikes hit hard. Rebuild it and you'll find the problem, tinker with it and you may never fix it.
hey man just picked up a 82 rm250 yesterday.runs good starts right up n stuff but i cant even get it to wheelie its not hitten powerband hard i drove my freinds 82 yz250 in it had way more power when hitten power band i couldnt even keep the wheel down n i heard the 82 rm was a real fast bike but its not pullen liek it should any ideas on whats wrong?
what mixture are you running in your bike. I have a 1983 rm250 that i got with a full tank and the guy didnt tell me the mixture he put in it
You can still get most of the plastic from Suzuki. Right side panel is the only part you can't get NOS, but you can get reproduction panels from DC Plastics. Airbox covers are discontinued and I have not seen reproductions yet. You can sand and polish or repaint the airbox covers. I make a few reproduction parts for these bikes like the spacers, rear suspension strut guard, rear shock wire hanger. Let me know if you're interested in those small parts and I'll hook you up.
i have one of these very same bikes and i just bought it a few days ago and i was wondering if yo can find the side plates, back fender, radiator gaurds and the breater covers i would highly appreciate it if you can respond to this
