Motorcycle FM Radio with MP3 input and helmet speaker jack..AVI
This is a wonderful unit, and has an input for your Ipod, MP3, or CD player. It also has a jack for your headphones or helmet speakers. The display is backlit when the unit is on, and the clock displays when the unit is off. This is a 12 volt unit, and has seperate power and memory power wires, and a ground wire. Speaker connections are all nicely done with bullet connectors. They do have AM, but the AM doesn't work very well, so if your into AM, this is not a good unit for you. The FM recievers work great though, and they really perform well with an MP3, Ipod or CD player. Dennis

@nickschindler, Don't connect the memory wire. It will still alplifie your MP3 player, but the clock and display won't work. leave all the wires connected, quit your job, and ride more, problem solved. Dennis
Hey, I just bought this and it seems to work good (for my ATV). The only problem I have is it draws constant power to run the memory and clock. Is there a way to wire it up where it only comes on when the key is turned on (so the clock stays off until key is on). I don't want it running down my battery since I don't ride but every 2 weeks or so nor do I want to pull the fuse after every ride.
Highridah64,
Maybe you got a bad one. Contact the person you bought it from, and see what they can do for you. If you got it from grapebaiwans on ebay, he will make it right. Dennis
@n6ugy
i have the newer version i tried all the stations even after adding wire
Highridah64,
If you don't have any close stations, you'll need more than just the yellow wire. Try just adding wire to it for starters. On my radio, the AM doesn't work at all, just static. Does your FM work ok ?
Also, does your have digital push button tuning ? Mine is the older manual tuning version. Dennis
does the yellow wire have to be attached to the antenna? i get no reception with mine just static.
The radios great but those front speakers are quite useless, you wont hear much when your riding beacouse of the helmet or of the wind( if your not wearing helmet(bad ideea)). Connecting the radio to helmet speakers is the best option.
jackalpan1, Yes, simply connect the yellow wire to the center pin of the car antenna plug, and ground the outside of the plug if you can easily.
hi iv'e recently purchased a motorcycle radio but have poor reception, in the video you say extend the yellow wire to a home made antenna but is possible to connect a standard car antenna to it ?
@n6ugy but seriously does it sound good, there only like 10 bucks i just found it on ebay LOL
redneck500
I dunno, they use to be less than 40 bucks shipped. Im just a customer. Dennis
how much dosh for the radio???
They really are a dandy little system for the money. I've had mine for about 3 years now, and I use it on a daily basis, my trike is my main transportation. Dennis
Thanks for the demo, this helped my decision alot!
1:33 The song is called 'Black dog' by Led Zeppelin if anyone wants to know
@MrDseery
I only use mine at rest. I don't need music when im riding. I have music coming from my exhaust.
@n6ugy Hi bought one of these radio after seeing this video it will benefit from being connected ut to an amp they can be bought on ebay for a few bucks.
regards
David Seery
Thank you so much for the information. If you can't hear this while riding the bike, then there's no sense in me buying it. You just saved me $40.00! (I was just about to buy it on ebay).
I can't hear em above 40 mph because I wear a german helmet, and the wind pounds my ears. I use it while im at rest, like in turnouts and stuff. Dennis
How do the speakers sound while you are running? Are they loud enough to enjoy?
I see that, the link didn't even show up. lol
The seller your looking for is "grapebaiwans". His name is Bictor.
He also has helmet speakers, in case you want to try some of those. They will plug into the jack on the left. Dennis
Cant see any link, but ill try on E-Bay, Thanks for your quick response.
If the link doesn't work, go to ebay and search for "motorcycle radio" Dennis
how much are these, and where can i get one ?
